By accessing and/or using the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet website (“Website”), you agree that you enter into a legally binding contract with us on these MySchool Supporter Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Notice. The provisions of the Privacy Notice are hereby incorporated by reference into the MySchool Supporter Terms and Conditions and any reference to “MySchool Supporter Terms and Conditions” includes the provisions of the Privacy Notice which have been incorporated by reference. Your access and/or use of the Website is deemed to mean that you agree to these MySchool Supporter Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Notice. If you do not so agree, please do not access or use the Website.
Joining MySchool
- To participate you must be 18 or older, shop in South Africa, have a South African ID number or foreign passport number and provide us with your email address and cell phone number.
- The MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme in South Africa is administered by Virtual Market Place (Pty) Ltd in partnership with Woolworths.
- You are the only person who may use your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card.
- This MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card may only be used in South Africa. If you belong to a MySchool programme in another country it is subject to different terms.
Choosing a school and/or charity
- You may choose up to three registered schools, charities and/or environmental organisations (beneficiaries) from our list. The list is available at www.myschool.co.za. If you choose more than one beneficiary the funds you raise will be divided equally among them.
- If you select a school or charity which is not registered, we will contact you to select a new one.
- Until you select a new school or charity the funds you raise will remain in a separate holding account for six (6) months. Thereafter VMP has the right to assign the Thuso Fund as your beneficiary and distribute your funds to other beneficiaries via the Thuso Fund learn more.
MySchool and WRewards
- Members of MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet automatically qualify for instant discounts at participating stores. You also qualify to become a WRewards member and to enjoy guaranteed benefits such as instant savings on Woolies Favourites – quality staples and best-loved products. Look out for the WRewards icon in the Daily Difference in store and online. PLUS you can also enjoy all the additional WRewards benefits from Woolworths by simply giving Woolworths consent to communicate with you directly. You will then get extra savings on special promotions as well as exclusive invites to new product launches and personalized vouchers.
- If you are already a WRewards member or Woolworths cardholder you can link your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet and Woolworths cards to ensure that your school and/or charity benefits when you swipe your Woolworths card.
- WRewards in South Africa is operated by Woolworths (Pty) Ltd (Reg. No. 1956/000518/07). Any reference to Woolworths includes the holding, associated and subsidiary companies of Woolworths.
- We may at any stage amend these MySchool Supporter Terms and Conditions or discontinue the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme without reason.

Our agreement
Our agreement begins once we have approved your application and we have received from you an original document to verify your organisation’s bank account details; and it continues indefinitely until either of us ends the relationship.
The contents of the beneficiary application form you submitted and any further requirements we stipulate before we process your application all form part of our agreement.
Either of us may end this agreement by giving the other 90 calendar days’ notice, in writing.
We have the right to terminate this agreement immediately if you do not adhere to the rules of the agreement.
Even if this agreement ends, you must continue to protect the personal information of your supporters in accordance with the law and these Terms and Conditions.
2. HOW TO BECOME A BENEFICIARY
Make sure you qualify
2.1 For an organisation to qualify for registration as a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet beneficiary, it must be either:
a. a school that is registered with the Department of Education or Department of Social Development; or
b. a non-profit organisation (NPO) or a public benefit organisation (PBO) that is registered as an NPO or a PBO with the South African Revenue Services; and must focus on:
i. uplifting people with physical or mental disabilities, orphans or the vulnerable; or
ii. uplifting people through education or social development; or
iii. protecting the environment; or
iv. protecting animals; or
v. any other cause we may choose.
2.2 Your organisation cannot qualify as a beneficiary if it is:
a. a charity promoting religion (this includes institutions such as churches, mosques and temples);
b. a charity promoting a specific political group or orientation;
c. a charity promoting specific social activism issues or views;
d. a sports club or association;
e. an interest or hobby group; or
f. a profit-making company.
2.3 Individuals cannot qualify as beneficiaries.
Send us the correct documents
2.4 Send us the following documents (by email only) so that we may process your application to be a beneficiary:
a. the completed MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet beneficiary application form containing your full details and your signature indicating that you agree with our Terms and Conditions;
b. a copy of your organisation’s letterhead;
c. a copy of your organisation’s VAT registration form (if VAT registered);
d. a short (no more than 300 words) description of what your organisation does;
e. a marketing plan setting out how you intend to manage your status as a beneficiary. The marketing plan must include:
i. how many Supporters you currently have;
ii. how you contact / communicate with them; and
iii. how you plan to increase your number of MySchool Supporters.

2.4 We will review your application based on the criteria we have determined, at our sole discretion. We will contact you to let you know whether your application has been provisionally approved and to ask for original documents to confirm your bank details.
3. OUR AGREEMENT

Once we accept you as a beneficiary, we will:
a. provide Supporters with instructions on how to access cards;
b. supply you with marketing tools and information to help you acquire more Supporters to increase your funding;
c. provide you with an overview of breakdown of funds raised for you on a monthly basis;
d. provide each Supporter with a breakdown of the funds he or she raised on a monthly basis; and
e. deposit the funds raised for you into your bank account at the end of each month.
5. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
If we accept your application to be a beneficiary, then you agree:
a. to comply with these Terms and Conditions;
b. to make an active effort to market and promote the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme and not do anything that might harm us, our operations, initiatives or reputation;
c. to follow your Marketing plan in order to increase the number of Supporters you have and the funding they generate for you;
d. to keep your Supporters’ personal information private and maintain the accuracy of their personal information;
e. to ask our prior written approval for use of our logos in any of your marketing material or where you might want to make reference to us in any public communication; and
f. to send us feedback by email every six months on how you have used the funds in your organisation.
6. OUR FUNDING MODEL
6.1 In order to run the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme sustainably we need to charge an administration fee. We deduct this fee of 30% from the funds we receive from retailers who participate in our programme, based on the amount of money that supporters spend. The remaining 70% is the total amount due to you before deductions.

8.1 We use your information to register you as a beneficiary, to ensure that you get paid, to check your details, to help you market more successfully and to compile reports in terms of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act.
8.2 We keep your personal information private.
8.3 We only disclose your personal information to companies if you ask us to, or if we need help to provide the best service to you or your supporters. To learn more about how we use your personal information please visit www.myschool.co.za/legal.
9. HOW WE COMMUNICATE WITH ONE ANOTHER
9.1 We choose to receive any documents (including the serving of any legal process) by email on cs@myschool.co.za.
9.2 You choose to receive any documents (including the serving of any legal process) at the contact details you provided in the beneficiary application form. It is your responsibility to let us know if your contact details change.
