Please take a moment to read these Myschool Myvillage Myplanet Supporter and Programme General Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) to understand how they apply to you as a supporter of MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet, as a one of the beneficiaries of the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme, your access and/or use of our website and for information if you wish to apply for WRewards.

1. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO:
1.1. The MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme in South Africa is a fundraising and development company registered in South Africa and is administered by Woolworths (Pty) Ltd with registration number 1956/000518/07 with its address at 93 Longmarket Street, Cape Town, 8001 (“Woolworths” or “our” or “us” or “we”). Woolworths is a subsidiary of Woolworths Holdings Ltd (“WHL”), a public company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Any reference to Woolworths includes the holding, associated and subsidiary companies of Woolworths. All rights and/or defences afforded to us in these General Terms shall stand to the benefit of our WHL group of companies.
1.2. MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet help raise funds for charitable and non-profit organisations (“beneficiaries”) that support education, people in need, animals and the environment. We do this by creating partnerships with retailers.
1.3. Please also take note of the change of operator of the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme in these Terms from VMP to Woolworths that was effective as from 1 July 2024.
2. TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY
2.1. Please review the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet privacy notice (available at www.myschool.co.za/legal/privacy-notice) (“Privacy Notice”) carefully as well as the general Woolworths Term and Conditions (https://www.woolworths.co.za/corporate/cmp207504 ). By accessing and/or using the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet
website (“Website”), you agree that you enter into a legally binding contract with us on these Terms, the general Woolworths Term and Conditions and the Privacy Notice.
2.2. The provisions of the Privacy Notice and the general Woolworths Term and Conditions are hereby incorporated by reference into these Terms and therefore any reference to these Terms includes the provisions of the Privacy Notice and the general Woolworths Term and Conditions which have been incorporated by reference.
2.3. Your access and/or use of the Website is deemed to mean that you agree to these Terms, the general Woolworths Term and Conditions and the Privacy Notice. If you do not so agree, please do not access or use the Website.
3. JOINING MYSCHOOL MYVILLAGE MYPLANET AS A SUPPORTER
3.1. To be eligible to participate and be a supporter of the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme you must be; (a)18 (eighteen) years of age or older; and (b) have a valid South African Identity document or a valid passport (“Supporter” or “you” or “your”).
3.2. You can sign up for the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme and become a Supporter by way of: (a) a standalone MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card (cards available in Woolworths stores or by downloading the Woolworths app, or (b) by registering on the Website at https://www.myschool.co.za/portal/register) or, (c) link your Woolworths store/credit card to your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet profile either on the Website or via the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet Call Client Service Centre on 0860 100 445 or on email at cs@myschool.co.za. You will not be charged a fee to sign up to MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet.
3.3. Please note that when you sign up to be a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet Supporter you will be required to provide us with some of your personal information, such as your email address and cell phone number. We require such information to verify your identity and to allow us to send you monthly statements of how much funds you have raised and that has been paid to your selected beneficiaries. You may (but are not obliged to) opt to receive marketing communication from MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet in order for you to be informed of any new developments and to be able to enter in competitions from time to time. 3.4. Once you sign up for MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet and have a membership number and card, in order to raise funds for your selected beneficiary, you will have to swipe your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card everything you make a purchase at Woolworths stores and/or at any of our partner stores or companies. Every time you swipe your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card, a percentage of the total value of your purchase will be paid to your chosen beneficiary at no extra cost to you.
3.5. Please note that the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card may only be used in South Africa and once a Supporter is issued with a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card, the Supporter is the only person who may use the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card and no one else.
4. REGISTERING AND CHOOSING A BENEFICIARY
4.1. Once you are a Supporter, you may choose up to three beneficiaries registered on our Website, which consists of schools, charities and/or environmental organisations (“beneficiaries”). Our beneficiary list is available at www.myschool.co.za. If you choose more than one beneficiary the funds you raised while swiping your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card when you make purchases will be divided equally among all the beneficiaries.
4.2. You can change your beneficiaries whenever you want to, but they cannot exceed more than 3 (three) beneficiaries at a time.
4.3. Should you be a new Supporter (as from 00:00am on 8 February 2024) and have not selected a beneficiary, all the funds you raised will remain in a separate holding account for a period of six (6) months from the date you accrued the funds, i.e. each time you successfully swipe your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card. After the 6 (six) month period has lapsed, VMP (or Woolworths as from 1 July 2024) has the right to automatically assign the Thuso Fund as your beneficiary and distribute your funds to other beneficiaries via the Thuso Fund without any notice to you (learn more about the Thuso Fund). This then means after each 6 (month) period for the duration of you being a Supporter and should you not select a beneficiary, the funds will be automatically transferred to the Thuso Fund.
5. MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet and WRewards
5.1. Supporters of MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet can join the Woolworths WRewards programme. WRewards in South Africa is also operated by Woolworths.
5.2. you want to be part of the WRewards programme you must read the WRewards terms and conditions too (available at www.woolworths.co.za) (“WRewards Terms and Conditions”).
5.3. Supporters of MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet, also qualify to become WRewards members and enjoy guaranteed benefits such as instant savings on Woolworths favourites quality staples and best-loved products. Once Supporters join WRewards, they automatically qualify for instant discounts at participating Woolworths stores given to WRewards members. PLUS, you can also enjoy all the additional WRewards benefits from Woolworths by simply giving Woolworths consent to communicate with you directly. You will then get extra savings on special promotions as well as exclusive invites to new product launches and personalized vouchers. Look out for the WRewards icon in the Daily Difference in store and online.
5.4. If you are already a WRewards member or a Woolworths store or credit cardholder, you can link your MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card to your Woolworths store/credit cards or WRewards card to ensure that your beneficiary benefits when you swipe your Woolworths store/credit card or WRewards card.
5.5. Please note: Once you do sign up for WRewards, you will automatically be and agree to be bound by the WRewards terms and conditions.
6. MYSCHOOL MYVILLAGE MYPLANET COMPETITIONS
7. CHANGE IN OPERATOR OF MYSCHOOL MYVILLAGE MYPLANET PROGRAMME
7.1. Prior to 1 July 2024 (or any other date to be confirmed by Woolworths, as an amendment to these Terms), the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme was operated by Virtual Market Place (RF) (Pty) Ltd, registration number 1997/016316/07, with its registered office at Atlantic House, 16 Corporation Street, Cape Town, 8001, South Africa (“VMP”).
7.2. We will notify any Supporters and beneficiaries who are affected by the change in operator. Should you have any queries about this change, please contact us on cs@myschool.co.za.

Our agreement
Our agreement begins once we have approved your application and we have received from you an original document to verify your organisation’s bank account details; and it continues indefinitely until either of us ends the relationship.
The contents of the beneficiary application form you submitted and any further requirements we stipulate before we process your application all form part of our agreement.
Either of us may end this agreement by giving the other 90 calendar days’ notice, in writing.
We have the right to terminate this agreement immediately if you do not adhere to the rules of the agreement.
Even if this agreement ends, you must continue to protect the personal information of your supporters in accordance with the law and these Terms and Conditions.
2. HOW TO BECOME A BENEFICIARY
Make sure you qualify
2.1 For an organisation to qualify for registration as a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet beneficiary, it must be either:
a. a school that is registered with the Department of Education or Department of Social Development; or
b. a non-profit organisation (NPO) or a public benefit organisation (PBO) that is registered as an NPO or a PBO with the South African Revenue Services; and must focus on:
i. uplifting people with physical or mental disabilities, orphans or the vulnerable; or
ii. uplifting people through education or social development; or
iii. protecting the environment; or
iv. protecting animals; or
v. any other cause we may choose.
2.2 Your organisation cannot qualify as a beneficiary if it is:
a. a charity promoting religion (this includes institutions such as churches, mosques and temples);
b. a charity promoting a specific political group or orientation;
c. a charity promoting specific social activism issues or views;
d. a sports club or association;
e. an interest or hobby group; or
f. a profit-making company.
2.3 Individuals cannot qualify as beneficiaries.

2.4 Send us the following documents (by email only) so that we may process your application to be a beneficiary:
a. the completed MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet beneficiary application form containing your full details and your signature indicating that you agree with our Terms and Conditions;
b. a copy of your organisation’s letterhead;
c. a copy of your organisation’s VAT registration form (if VAT registered);
d. a short (no more than 300 words) description of what your organisation does;
e. a marketing plan setting out how you intend to manage your status as a beneficiary. The marketing plan must include:
i. how many Supporters you currently have;
ii. how you contact / communicate with them; and
iii. how you plan to increase your number of MySchool Supporters.

2.4 We will review your application based on the criteria we have determined, at our sole discretion. We will contact you to let you know whether your application has been provisionally approved and to ask for original documents to confirm your bank details.
3. OUR AGREEMENT

Once we accept you as a beneficiary, we will:
a. provide Supporters with instructions on how to access cards;
b. supply you with marketing tools and information to help you acquire more Supporters to increase your funding;
c. provide you with an overview of breakdown of funds raised for you on a monthly basis;
d. provide each Supporter with a breakdown of the funds he or she raised on a monthly basis; and
e. deposit the funds raised for you into your bank account at the end of each month.
5. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
If we accept your application to be a beneficiary, then you agree:
a. to comply with these Terms and Conditions;
b. to make an active effort to market and promote the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme and not do anything that might harm us, our operations, initiatives or reputation;
c. to follow your Marketing plan in order to increase the number of Supporters you have and the funding they generate for you;
d. to keep your Supporters’ personal information private and maintain the accuracy of their personal information;
e. to ask our prior written approval for use of our logos in any of your marketing material or where you might want to make reference to us in any public communication; and
f. to send us feedback by email every six months on how you have used the funds in your organisation.
6. OUR FUNDING MODEL
6.1 In order to run the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme sustainably we need to charge an administration fee. We deduct this fee of 30% from the funds we receive from retailers who participate in our programme, based on the amount of money that supporters spend. The remaining 70% is the total amount due to you before deductions.
7. YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR SUPPORTERS’ PERSONAL INFORMATION

8.1 We use your information to register you as a beneficiary, to ensure that you get paid, to check your details, to help you market more successfully and to compile reports in terms of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act.
8.2 We keep your personal information private.
8.3 We only disclose your personal information to companies if you ask us to, or if we need help to provide the best service to you or your supporters. To learn more about how we use your personal information please visit www.myschool.co.za/legal.
9. HOW WE COMMUNICATE WITH ONE ANOTHER
9.1 We choose to receive any documents (including the serving of any legal process) by email on cs@myschool.co.za.
9.2 You choose to receive any documents (including the serving of any legal process) at the contact details you provided in the beneficiary application form. It is your responsibility to let us know if your contact details change.
9.3 We prefer to communicate by email.
