What is MySchool / MyVillage / MyPlanet?

MySchool (which includes MySchool, MyVillage and MyPlanet) is South Africa's number one community support system and raises over R1.5 million a month for schools and charities. The system supports more than 10 000 schools and communities and has 2500 retail partners nationwide.

How does it work?

Supporter cards (MySchool / MyVillage / MyPlanet ) are swiped every time a purchase is made at one of our retail partners nationwide. Each transaction is recorded and a percentage is paid to the school or charity of the supporter's choice.

How do I register?

By calling Client Services on 0860 100 445 or applying online.

My supporter card has been stolen or is lost. How do I go about receiving a new card?

Call Client Services on 0860 100 445 or send an This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Please include your name and surname, the institution that you are supporting, as well as your current postal address.

Do I require a new card after I have changed my support to another beneficiary?

No. You may continue to swipe your original card. The funds will be allocated correctly, regardless of the beneficiary printed on your card

Is it possible to support more than one beneficiary?

Yes. Should you decide to support more than one beneficiary, the funds will be split according to your request. We don't encourage more than 2 beneficiaries, as the contribution to each becomes too small.

What percentages are paid to the school/charity?

Our business partners donate different percentages, ranging between 0.25% and 5% of the purchase amount. 70% thereof is paid to the school/charity of your choice.

How do I change my beneficiary online?

In order to change your beneficiary you could contact us or click here to update your profile and change your beneficiary.

I want to view my transactions

Click here to view your list of the previous period's transactions (bear in mind that we work approximately 1 month in arrears).

Why does my contribution seem so small?

Please note that the success of the model relies on multiple supporters, spending at multiple partners. And although your contribution may seem insignificant, it does add up in the end. Always remember to use your MySchool/MyVillage/MyPlanet card and try to encourage all your friends and family to support your beneficiary. Every Swipe Counts!

Who are the MySchool business partners?

National retail partners include Woolworths, Engen QuickShops, Club Travel, kalahari.com, SupaQuick, Waltons, Toys R Us, Reggie's, Jack's Paint and TonerTown SA. Many other retailers support the program on a regional and local level, with a total of 2 500 locations nation wide, where the supporter cards can be used. Remember to look out for the MySchool/MyVillage/MyPlanet signage at pay points to identify local and regional business partners. To find partners in you area, click here.

Why couldn't I swipe my Supporter card with Engen when purchasing petrol?

You can use your supporter card at Engen QuickShop to raise funds. Unfortunately, petrol and diesel purchases are excluded.

Why couldn't I swipe my Supporter card with Waltons when paying my account?

Unfortunately, you can only raise MySchool funds when buying with cash/debit card at Waltons. Buying on credit exposes Waltons to bad dept risk, as they are liable to pay the beneficiary while the account holder may not pay them.

How do I link my MySchool supporter and Woolworths card so that I only need to swipe one card at Woolworths stores?

Link your Woolworths card to support a MySchool beneficiary by contacting the Client Service Centre on 0860 100 445.

Why can't I swipe my supporter (MySchool / MyVillage / MyPlanet) card, when paying utility bills at Woolworths?

This is a service to the public and not a Woolworths transaction.

Why do I receive marketing material?

When you applied for your MySchool card, you were asked for permission to send you MySchool and/or Woolworths updates, special promotions and marketing material. If you answered yes, you will receive marketing material. MySchool makes every effort to ensure that you only receive information and offers that are of value to you. With the help of our national partner network we also strive to bring you exclusive MySchool benefits. To receive marketing material, please call our Client Services on 0860 100 445.

Is it possible to support an animal charity?

Yes, many national and regional animal welfare organisations are registered with us at MyPlanet beneficiaries. You can search for MyPlanet and other beneficiaries here or contact us to find out who is registred
