Empowering people through welding training and work placement, Anchor of Hope is helping bring valuable talent to the workforce, communities and economy.

MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet funded the offering life skills and basic welding training for 20 students, Anchor of Hope is helping upskill and empower graduates to become functioning members of society. Anchor of Hope believes that by offering subsidised skills development, it can play an important role in kickstarting the local economy. By nurturing a responsible workforce, it will develop entrepreneurship, restore dignity, reduce crime and empower the marginalised.

As well as providing specific basic welding skills, the 7-week programme focuses on life skills along with language and mathematic ability assessments — exploring the learner’s vision, beliefs and values, as they grow in understanding that they were created with their own God-given purpose and potential.

Learners will learn welding skills and receive supervision, stationery, handbooks, materials and tuition throughout the programme until graduation.
