Once Ted was bundled up safely, he was rushed to the TEARS Welfare Clinic where a vet was waiting to see him. Clearly terrified of people, it looked like Ted had never had any human contact and had only ever been chased away. His fur was so severely matted, with dreadlocks so tight they had ripped his skin open. Maggots had infested his wounds and he suffered with chronic sarcoptic mange and a secondary bacterial infection.
Clearly the worse for wear, the veterinary team immediately began treatment – sedating him as they removed his painful dreads and gently gave him a cleansing top-to-tail bath. As soon as he was up, Ted enjoyed a festive feast of chicken — probably the first time he’d ever tasted it in his short life.
To help protect his skin and aid the healing process, generous donations from Nexgard and Hill’s food helped transform Ted’s life. Now up and about, little Ted has received the best gift ever — a loving home where he’s settling in nicely.
