WOW - this campaign is really kicking up a soccer storm!

Thank you to everyone for your patience, dedication and passion. This is going to be great.

We would like to share some info and answer questions you may have:

The manual says we get T-shirts and caps

We have reprinted the manual and a new copy should be delivered to you shortly. The Big 5 back does not have a cap and a T-shirt. It consists of a drawstring bag, a skills ball and a letter to the learner.

What are other schools doing?

This week schools celebrated 100 days to kickoff and also got their students and teachers to do some cool tricks with their soccer skills balls. You can see the videos and comments on our website or on Facebook.

How will I know who the weekly class winner is?

Every Monday from around 12:00 the winning classes for the previous week will be available on the Play It Forward website under the SCHOOLS section here: http://www.playitforward.co.za/#schools

Select the school you want to view and all the classes in that school will appear with their scores and ranks. You will see the top class for the previous week. You can also check out how other schools are doing too.

Hand out the prizes accordingly (refer to your manual). For this week you will give a civvies day to the top class or any other VIP treatment you feel comfortable with.

How can parents register?

They can register

• 1) via SMS (simply SMS the word PLAY, the class code and your MySchool card number to 31155. Standard rates apply).
• 2) On the website www.playitforward.co.za

What Must the Big 5 do?

The Big 5 learners in your schools are well known, active, sociable, and responsible and know about soccer!  They are going to play a BIG part in the Play It Forward campaign and will get to have lots of fun in showing off your soccer tricks and SKILLS to their mates and the REST of the school.  

The BIG 5 responsibilities.

• Five of them will be given really cool, skills soccer balls from Woolworths and MySchool and they will get together on your school field or quad and play around with these balls during Football FRIDAY or any other day chosen by you.
• They will tell and show their friends, family and everyone in your school a few 'tricks' using the balls.
• Playing around means performing tricks, doing the Diski Dance or creating their very own one, scoring some goals and best of all, teaching the rest of their friends or even some guys from the younger grades, to do the same.
• They will have permission from you/ teacher and principal for one of them to film the PLAY IT FORWARD activities on the playground with a cellphone.
• None of the schools will receive cellphones, we request the Champion Teacher to use theirs or a digital camera with a video function.
• They will need to send the video clip or photographs to PLAY IT FORWARD ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). We will load it on the www.playitforward.co.za website. Learners must have permission from their parents to send us any videos or photos.
• Blog about their experiences on the Play It Forward website or on Facebook (if they are 13 years or older). These blogs will include their part in the PLAY IT FORWARD campaign and continuously encourage others to get people swiping (for their class and their school), buy a ball and practise their tricks wherever they can.

BIG 5 PARTICIPATION IS NOT COMPULSORY.

We thank you in advance for your enthusiastic participation. We apologise for the inconvenience of not being able to provide all schools with cellphones to film the Big 5 in action, but the magnitude of this expense defies the campaign action which is ultimately to raise funds for the benefit of those in need.
