Reach for a Dream
Fulfilling the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses. Reach For A Dream is a non-profit organisation which fulfils the dreams of children between the ages of 3 and 18 who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
Reach For A Dream encourage children to believe in their dreams and use their dreams to fight their illnesses.
For children who have been diagnosed as having a life-threatening illness, the magic of childhood may be lost in the emotional, physical and financial strain of dealing with their illness. Reach For A Dream tries to alleviate some of this strain (which often affects the whole family), by creating a different environment for the child - one that is not focused on her/ his illness.
They would like all affected children to find their laughter again and therein find the strength to live beyond their illnesses.

The types of dreams vary according to the unique personalities and interests of the child. Some of the recent dreams fulfilled include:
• A dream to meet someone - their favourite sportsperson, a TV personality
• A dream to go/ see - a trip to Cape Town, to touch a dolphin, to go to the theatre, or watch Idols live
• A dream to become - a ballerina, a radio DJ, a sports commentator
• A dream to have - a bicycle, a bedroom makeover, PlayStation games
All their activities, including their national projects Queen For A Day, Captain Courage, Camp Sunshine and Jabulani Kingdom are aimed at inspiring hope, motivating dreamers and encouraging fun and laughter! Reach For A Dream are very proud that they have been fulfilling dreams since 1988, and we are honoured to be a part of their journey, and encourage you to lend your support too.
