The Three Little Shine Musketeers

The Zonnebloem Shine Centre  a MyVillage  beneficiary offer a multi-sensory intervention programme twice weekly to those Grade Two and Grade Three children who are not reading at the appropriate grade level.  They pair each child, who needs intensive support, with a trained volunteer who serves as their learning partner, and together, they work through the Shine Language and Literacy Programme which consists of four parts: shared reading, paired reading, 'have a go' writing, and word play.

SANCCOB supporters devote their time to clean up Lagoon Beach Milnerton

Mandela Day is celebrated every year on Nelson Mandela’s birthday - 18 July - to honour his legacy and his values, through volunteering and community service. With the onus on caring for our seabirds and marine environment, SANCCOB hosted a beach clean-up at Lagoon Beach to clean the seaside area by collecting litter and rubble for 67 minutes.

Extreme Makeover at Leliebloem House a great success

Sponsors, contractors and over  1200 volunteers rallied together on the 27, 28 and 29 July 2012 at the Leliebloem  Child and Youth Care Centre in Crawford to take on the 3 day Extreme Makeover. MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is very proud to be a sponsor of this project (which is run annually by Heart 104.9Fm and Newkidz on the Block, a local NGO) by donating R80 000 which contributed to the great success of the makeover.

200 Western Cape principals were treated to a quality management development morning on 4 August 2012 where they heard from top guest speakers about applying value-driven leadership standards in their schools, developing learners into employees of the future, and how to live a life of passion. The annual School Principals Conference was hosted by Woolworths and the Western Education Department.
