Warwick“Find optimism and opportunity in every situation – no matter how bad or how difficult that situation may be”

These are the mature words of young student Warwick Vos, the recipient of a R40 000 bursary donation from the MySchool fundraising programme. At 25 he has already had a rollercoaster life experience, but now he believes things are truly starting to turn around.

This year, to honour International White Cane Safety Day (which has been celebrated on 15 October annually since 1964), the South African National Council for the Blind held a fun-walk to highlight the needs, achievements and independence of the blind and visually impaired. MyVillage was also involved: committing to sponsor R100 per person that participates. 167 people participated in the fun walk, going through central Pretoria.
