How can you learn to read and write if you don’t have basics such as a desk, a backpack and stationery to write with?

Get involved and help pack 500 backpacks for learners in Mpumalanga.  We are also delivering 2 000 lap desks to address their desk shortage.  Working alongside Better SA, TutuDesk Campaign and Learn To Earn, this special MySchool volunteer event allows you to get hands on, plus helps to empower the local community.

This collaborative effort will provide practical, impactful and immediate relief to 2 000 underprivileged children at strategically selected schools along the border area of the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Volunteers will be packing 500 school backpacks with stationery and pencil bags (made by Learn To Earn). These will be delivered together with 2 000 Tutudesk lap desk.

To empower and give more to our communities we are sourcing 500 pencil bags from one of our beneficiaries, Learn To Earn.

Learn to Earn is a 27 year old NPO based in the Western Cape of South Africa. Their mission is to give the unemployed a “hand up not a hand out” and develop people socially, economically and emotionally. With the aid of one-on-one coaching and mentoring trainees have the opportunity to daily perform and practice their respective skills.  Proceeds generated from sales of products made, are fed back into the project to grow and sustain the programme.
