We are extremely honoured and humbled to announce that MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet was awarded the Best Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative Linked to Loyalty (for our Youth Day Campaign: Helping school kids who don’t have desks) at The Loyalty Awards EMEA 2015 in London during June.
We were chosen from five finalists, which included: Abbott Turkey / 360DRCMarketing - Life is Valuable Club; Cable and Wireless - Happy to Give; Multipont Program - Let’s help Santa!; and XL Team - Safe Drive.
This is the third year running that the programme has walked away with a category win and Helene Brand, who is the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet Marketing Manager, was awarded the Loyalty Industry Personality of the Year Award.
The ‘Helping school kids who don’t have desks’ swipe campaign was implemented in June 2014 and raised funds to provide 2 000 South African learners who don’t have desks at school with a Tutudesk (a lap desk).
“It is great to be recognised yet again by The Loyalty Awards. The winning campaign was close to our hearts, because we know that in South Africa alone an estimated 3 million learners attend school every day without the benefit of a classroom desk to work at”, says Pieter Twine, General Manager for MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet.
Held for the first time in 2012, The Loyalty Awards recognise excellence, innovation and best practice in the loyalty industry across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The national MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet fundraising programme gives back over R1 million to help over 9 000 schools and charities every week. Funds raised for schools and charities have more than doubled over the last five years.
