The Baba Indaba is South Africa’s premier ‘baby, toddler and parenting expo’ which is held annually in the cities of Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg and for the first time this year, Baba Indaba is coming to Soweto.

MySchool was proud to have a stand at the Baba Indaba Cape Town expo, held on the 23 – 25 July, where we could educate people about the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme and what is does for schools, charities and the community.  The show attracted many feet in the door; first time mums and pregnant mums with their toddlers.  The MySchool stand attract a large crowd over the weekend, and we had plenty of fun activities to keep the children entertained.  Whilst their parents signed up to the MySchool programme, the children kept busy playing Nintendo Wii and creating pretty sand art pictures they could take home with them.

We signed up new supporters, engaged with people teaching them about MyVillage and MyPlanet and doing fun activities for the kids.
Our Staff members were cooperative with making the activities planned to be exciting and fun for the kids.

We received great response from the parents and the kids had loads of fun playing the Nintendo Wii game and doing the Sand Art.

During the course of the day, we had spot prizes such as Vuvuzela’s, soccer balls and a Woolworths R150 Gift card for one lucky winner at the end of each day.  The MySchool team attracted a lot of attention to the stand, and at the end of the show, the MySchool stand won the most ‘popular stand’ award voted by the visitors.

The result?

MySchool received the 'most popular stand award' which was nominated by the visitors.

To all those that supported us at the event, we thank you all.

Now we look forward to the next Baba Indaba in Soweto.
