The women saw and experienced first hand the immense hardship and poverty and instantly decided to become personally involved in changing lives of the vulnerable groupings in communities.  Armed with the determination, commitment, networks of business colleagues and acquaintances, the spouses set about to investigate how they could achieve the objective of changing lives.

The Sešego Cares team is guided by the premise of “Ubuntu” which transcends the potential and promise that cooperation and willingness to pursue a common goal delivers.  Considerable work and progress has been made since inception and the team has remained relentless in its cause and belief in being the catalyst of change that will continue to help communities reach their full potential in a sustainable manner.  The team is humbled by what it has achieved and is intent on facing the challenges that lie ahead, given the social and economic challenges that vulnerable communities still have to contend with.

The members of Sešego Cares have been involved in the following strategic partnerships;

Partnership with School Aid, a UK based NGO. Sešego Cares has joined hands with School-Aid to assist one another in alleviating some of the necessities in the communities in Southern Africa. The two organisations have been working together for some months already to facilitate upliftment in some of South Africa’s most disadvantaged communities, in particular by supporting learners, educators and schools in township areas.

Partnership with the Rotary Club of Northcliff. Sešego Cares has partnered an initiative between the Rotary Club of Northcliff and Rotary Club of Rushmoor based in the UK. This partnership made it possible for Sešego Cares to assist Rotary in the distribution and donation of second hand wheelchairs for free to the less fortunate. This Rotary initiative has benefited more than 18 000 disabled individuals throughout Southern Africa so far and would not have been as successful without the recent donation of R325 000 from Sesego Cares.  Sešego Cares has also distributed various library books from the Humanitarian Centre of Rotary District 9300 for the erection of various libraries throughout the country.

The organisation will continue to take on new projects in benefit of communities throughout Southern Africa, with a particular focus on the need within education, health, water and sanitation, vegetable gardens and improved living conditions.
