Which charity group is most loved in South Africa? The Vote for SA’s Favourite Charity competition, launched by the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme, aims to answer this question. MySchool has identified 25 of their top and most loved charities and now challenge the public to vote for the one which is most deserving. The winning charity will receive R10 000 cash and a lucky voter will also win R5 000.
The competition was launched on 16 November 2009 and runs until 28 February 2010. MySchool card holders (and Woolworths card holders who are linked to MySchool) can vote online at www.myschool.co.za/favourite_charity . If you don’t have a card, simply apply online. You can choose to vote or any one of the top 25 charities listed, or nominate a charity of your choice.
MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is South Africa's foremost community support programme, contributing more than R1.5 million every month to schools and charities. The competition was launched to highlight the MyVillage MyPlanet beneficiaries and the dedicated work they do within local communities. This includes charities that care for children and orphans, people with disabilities and those that are dedicated to the improvement and protection of the environment and animals. Currently there are over 90 000 people supporting charities in this way with their MySchool cards.
“The number of people that choose the support a charitable organisation through their MySchool card continues to grow each year. It is especially appealing to individuals who don’t have children in school and who have a passionate and social heart,” says Helene van Dyk, Marketing Manager at MySchool. “This competition gives us an opportunity to acknowledge these charities and creates a platform to showcase the tremendous work they do.”
