WESTERN CAPE
Oakhill had a wonderfully successful ‘Futbal Festival’ on Friday. The weather was glorious and we had over 150 kids, including 70 children from development schools in Rheenendal, Rondevlei, Ruigtevlei and a local Soup Kitchen joining us.
They have used a large portion of the My School Funds to assist with transport to and from Oakhill School for all 70 development children – the afternoon was filled with face painting, the kids being taught the Diski Dance, football matches, football skills and other fun activities.
Mugg & Bean Knysna baked choc chip muffins which were gobbled up in no time and Woolworths Knysna donated a generous amount of fruit and food. Oakhill parents supplied cupcakes, drinks and other delicious food and everyone was well fed!
Waltons Knysna helped fill our 70 ‘take home’ goody bags with stationery and we topped these up with food treats which helped end a fantastic afternoon.
Oakhill also donated sports equipment to the schools and Friday turned out to be a wonderful example of how Oakhill and our supporting My School Card retailers do make a difference. The Futbal Festival was one of Oakhill’s ‘Play it Forward’ initiatives championed by their 5 PIF champions.
