Their main objective is to enhance the lives of children by providing safe, loving and stimulating care through the services of committed staff who develop the children’s capacity as individuals and who empower the respective families and the greater community to care for such children as well.

Woodside Special Care Centre is situated on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Lawson Road in Rondebosch East, Cape Town.  Woodside Special Care Centre is the only private residential facility in the Western Cape that offers care to profoundly intellectually disabled children from as young as birth to eighteen years but has adopted an inclusive policy when the national government closed down similar facilities for adults.

Woodside Special Care Centre was able to give all for of its wards a lift with beautiful linen purchased with their My School Funds.

All 89 residents received a duvet cover; fitted sheet and pillow case for their beds.
It has added to the attractiveness of the wards and helped add to the homely feel created at Woodside Special Care Centre.

Projects have already been identified where the next My School funds will be allocated to.  It will go towards purchasing much needed equipment and everyday items for Woodside SCC such as:
*           Adult diapers to increase the hygiene standards of our Centre
*           Occupational therapy; physiotherapy and nursing care equipment
